    Climb Eyam

This is a monthly climbing group for the young people in Eyam. Carried out in partnership with Eyam School PTFA, this well-being project helps students transition successfully into high school. Students are given the opportunity to join the group in Y6, and continue in the group once at high school. This helps the Y6 students reconnect with the older students, and then maintain connection once they go to different schools. The group climb indoors initially, learning how to climb, belay and look after each other safely, before progressing outdoors.

  • A young woman wearing a blue climbing helmet and climbing shoes is looking down from the top of an indoor rock climbing wall. She is holding onto a yellow climbing hold with her left hand, and her right knee is pressed against the wall. Another person is visible in the background, also on the climbing wall, preparing to climb. The climbing wall has colorful holds and a black safety mat beneath it.

This is a bi-weekly session for young people with special educational needs and disabilities. Group sizes are small and sessions are individualised to suit the needs of the climber, with opportunities to climb indoors and outside.
