Our Patron

Pat Littlejohn OBE

Pat is an icon of British climbing and mountaineering with an immense record of achievement. He is also an International Mountain Guide, was Director of the International School of Mountaineering in Switzerland for 30 years and served 3 years as Vice-President of the British Mountaineering Council (‘BMC’). He has been awarded an OBE for his services to mountaineering and is a BMC Patron. Pat has even left his mark on Guernsey’s own sea cliffs with several hard, quality, first ascents. Pat is always the strong voice of the importance of adventure and style in climbing, and it is fantastic to have his support.

Our Technical Advisor

Mike Rosser WMCI*

Mike is our appointed Technical Advisor and is very highly regarded in the UK Outdoor Industry. As well as being an active climber and Winter Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor, he has 40 years’ experience as a teacher and lecturer of PE and Outdoor Education, is a past Executive Officer for Mountain Training England and a Manager and Director of companies organising trekking and mountaineering expeditions to remote regions. He is also a LOtC Inspector of Outdoor Providers and an Educational Visits Advisor to state and independent schools. He has Chaired the Adventurous Activities Industry Advisory Committee that Awards Adventuremark, a recognised Industry Standard for Adventurous Activity Providers, and currently Chairs the BMC Health and Safety Group.

Christian Harvey RCDI* & ML*

Chris was introduced to climbing on Guernsey’s sea cliffs as a teenager and has since climbed all over the world from mountains in Antarctica to big walls in Yosemite, America. He has extensive knowledge of Guernsey’s sea cliffs and has been involved in over 100 new routes. Chris has a passion for making climbing and the mountains accessible to everyone. He has a degree in Psychology, is a Chartered Accountant and Commercial Yachtmaster. He has also been a member of the St Peter Port lifeboat crew and the Lifeboat Operations Manager.

Nicola Pledger RCI*

Nicky has been rock climbing and mountaineering for as long as she can remember. Her passion for climbing has taken her to many beautiful destinations across the world including Nepal, Patagonia, West America, throughout Europe. Nicky has 19 years’ experience in working with children and families as a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist and has spent the last 12 years working specifically with young people’s mental health. Climb allows Nicky to join the areas of her life that she feels strongly about; to bring opportunities for all to experience the joy, challenge, and self-discovery that climbing can offer. Nicky is keen to use the experience that she gains in working with people in this way to develop programmes to reach-out further.
